Providing school portrait services since 2017, Here We Grow Portraits is a Toronto-based Boutique School Portrait Studio offering a fun, full-service experience to schools and families with results parents love.
Serving select private schools, preschools and daycare centres in the Greater Toronto Area, we emphasize a fun and personable experience for children, and a professional and seamless experience for schools and centres. Providing a great portrait service is a value-add for your institution.
We are NOT the cliché school photo provider that families have grown tired of – we create images that parents love to collect, display and share as their children grow through the years.
We schedule more time to photograph each child, allowing for gentle communication and/or joking around that allows us to capture genuine and happy expressions.
We use modern, simple backdrops and lighting techniques that infuse our images with emotion.
We also remove the bulk of the administration and paperwork required by the school – we take care of detailed scheduling, parent communications and all online proofing and ordering.
Of course we need your help along the way – but we use our experience of photographing thousands of school children over recent years to guide our partnership along.

About Heather
Heather is the Owner and Lead Photographer at Here We Grow Portraits.
With over 15 years of experience professionally photographing children, and more years before that as an Engineer and consultant, Heather brings a wide array of skills to the table in providing a smooth, seamless and fun portrait experience to schools and families. As a mother to two, she also brings a dose of patience and understanding.
Heather is an Accredited Professional Photographer of Children, Infants and Newborns and a member in good standing with the Professional Photographers of Canada (www.ppoc.ca). She is also an Award-Winning member of the National Association of Professional Child Photographers (www.napcp.com). Through NAPCP, she has also earned the Master Photographer designation in both Child Photography and Family Photography.
She also really knows how to make kids smile.

RENATA - Production Artist
Renata joined the Here We Grow Portraits team in September 2022.
Renata is a photo editor, graphic designer and a photographer as well. Her passion for editing and photography came when she was just a kid in Brazil. She discovered Photoshop on her own and used it as a hobby until she was old enough to get into a Graphic Design program to learn more. Nowadays, she sees her job as being part of the process of creating images that mark people’s lives and will be cherished forever. She's an easy-going person, who's always laughing, loves summer, kids (the younger they are, the more her heart melts), reading and is always listening to some music.
JAIME - Production Artist
Jaime joined the Here We Grow Portraits team in September 2023.
Jaime is an award -winning photographer who resides in Manitoba. She has a studio and she likes to shoot a little of everything, but mainly, children, families and pets. She has been a member of the PPOC since late 2018 and loves the camaraderie and growth that the organization brings to her work life. She has a wonderful husband, 3 girls (who often star in her work). She has 5 accreditations and looks forward to learning and working towards new ones. In her non photo life, she enjoys hiking with her kids and their 2 extra large dogs, reading, and spending time with her family.
REBECCA - Production Artist
Rebecca joined the Here We Grow team in February 2024.
Rebecca is a Port Perry based family & equine photographer who has loved photography for as long as she can remember. A family person to her core and a big animal lover, Rebecca loves that photography allows her to capture her favourite people and feels so lucky that she gets to do the same for her clients. Creating images that will be treasured forever is her favourite part of the job. When she isn’t photographing or editing, she is likely studying, walking her dog, reading, or out for coffee with friends! Rebecca is super excited to be joining the Here We Grow team in the Spring of 2024 as a Production Artist to work the behind-the-scenes magic!
